He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Hixon and Lena Hixon (Adams); and his siblings, Dennis, Harold, Dale, Jerry, Dorothy, Judy, Anita, Wilma, Joy and Carol.
He is survived by: his wife Laura (Gran); his children, Connie Whitehead (Rodney) and Ronnie Hixon (Claudette); his grandchildren, Jeremie Niccum (Kara), Amie Schneider (Niccum), Vicki Wood (Hixon) and Valari Hayes (Hixon); and his great grandchildren, Gavin Wood, Brandon Anderson, Jacob Schneider, Peyton Wood, Lillian Hayes, Cailin Schneider, Alaina Niccum, Junia Hayes, Tanner Niccum and Charlotte Hayes.
