He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Ray and Bessie O. Gillespie (Zink); and his son Roy Lee Gillespie. He is survived by: his wife Norma Gillespie (Stafford); his children, Diana Hickman of Florida, Nancy Garrett of Texas and Eddie Bell of Missouri; and his sister Evelyn Johnson of Kansas. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
