He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray Purdom and Elnora Purdom (Hill); his siblings, Linda Mae, Patricia Ann Chaney and Elgie Ray Purdom (Nita Bowers Purdom); and his son-in-law Walter Franklin.
He is survived by: his close friend Treva McClung; his daughters, Tammy Franklin and Tina (Michael McChristian); his grandchildren, Tailor Halbert, Kendall Franklin and Alyssa McChristian; his great grandchild Mila Halbert; and his siblings, Dane (Brenda Sloan), Delbert Sloan and Ruth Ann Green. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
