He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Dean Sr. and Becky Spruill; and his brother Ricky. He is survived by: his wife Carol Ann Spruill; his grandchildren, Nicole, Deanne, Christina, Michael and Jade; and his siblings, Ceil Scarano, Neil Morgan Timothy (Mike Morgan) and Jimmie Spruill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to a local youth sports organization, something Dean held close to his heart.
