He was predeceased by: his parents, William Louis Stewart Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Stewart (Robinson); his siblings, William Stewart, Jr. and Wilma Burrows; and his niece Carlene Scott.
He is survived by: his wife Landa Carrol Bates; his sister Wanda; his brother-in-law Robert Fox; and his nieces and nephews, Roger Stewart (Teresa), Bobby Fox, Kay Rutledge, Dianna Hays (Steve), Janice Goad Guy and Sharon Finney.
