It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Henry Donald Chaney Sr. of Copan, Oklahoma, born in Coffeyville, Kansas, who passed away on October 18, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Henry Chaney; his wife Donna Forrest Chaney; his mother Norma King Baxter (King); his brother Jim Chaney; and his nephew Jimmy Chaney.
He is survived by: his children, John Chaney Jr. (Dawn) of Copan, LouAnn Nelson (Todd) of Skiatook, Jania Whittaker (Lyle) of Miller Mo and Julie Woody (Ronnie Hatheway) of Copan; his stepchildren, Paul Fiddler (Tamara) of Bartlesville and Heidi Graham of Skiatook; his grandchildren, Anthony, Lindsay, Kyle, Jake, Ty, Samantha, Shelby and Morgan; his great grandchildren, Brenae, Braeley, Elias, Charli, Ellie, Benton, Ava, Evelyn, Daniel and Lila; and his brothers, Lon Chaney (Becky) of Copan and Bob Chaney (Kerry) of Dewey.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 23rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory (1600 SE Washington Blvd, Bartlesville, OK 74006). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Community Baptist Church (12950 N 4000 Rd, Dewey, OK 74029).
