It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Jane Helmick of Commerce, Oklahoma, born in Quapaw, Oklahoma, who passed away on November 1, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Amyer Scholes and Clara Scholes (Rogers); her husband JD Helmick; her children, Cara Jane Fisher and Kirby "Mack" Helmick; and her brother George Scholes.

She is survived by: her son Corbin Helmick of Miami; her grandchildren, Rachel Keith and David Helmick; and her great grandchild Jamin Helmick.

“Corbin, I was so sorry to hear this news. But Mary Jane was very ready to meet the Lord. And I can't imagine how being on this earth for 98 years would feel. She outlived all her best friends in the Commerce area and especially those from the United Methodist Church in Commerce. I remember those days at church and on Cedar Street when Cara Jane was one of my best friends before the family moved to Miami. You took such good care of her these last few years. You should be proud.”
