He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mary Lawson, Bertie Lorene Winter, Odie Qualls and David Barton; his aunts and uncles, Joyce Biffle, Wanda Chapman, Brenda McNutt, Dovia Nalley, James Lawson, Bill Lawson and Jay Barton; and his brother-in-law Cleve Bethany.

He is survived by: his significant other Debbie Johnson; his son Timothy Qualls; his parents, Hershel Qualls and Bertha Qualls; and his siblings, Wayne Qualls, Darlene Bethany and Lorrie (Stormy Rowe).
