He was predeceased by: his parents, Carleton "Doc" Pirtle and Mildred Pirtle (Wright); his former wife Mary Jeanne Pirtle; his siblings, Jody Pirtle, Mike McIver and Kay Frances McIver; his stepson Chris Webb; and his nephew Craig McCown.
He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Marie Bonham of Coleman; his pets, Pancho and Lefty; his grandchildren, Brenton Hall, Blaine Bonham, Shaylea Bonham and Addison Houser; his sisters, Ann Janssen of Lake Whitney and Linda Laverdier (John) of Highland Village, Texas; his son-in-law Jacob Houser; his sister-in-law Cindy McIver of Tishomingo; his nieces and nephews, Kim Keeney of Duncan, OK, Scotty McCown of Lake Whitney, TX, Kerry Morgan of Corinth, TX, Danny McCraw of Hickory Hills, TX and Carrie McCormick (Jeff) of Everett, WA; and his great-nephew Austin Vernon.
