He is survived by: his wife Lisa Nason-Cates of Colbert, OK; his daughter Mallory Crawford (Aaron); his grandchildren, Aiden, Mason and Aubrey of Denison, TX; his son Philip Cates Jr. (Hannah); his grandchildren, Riley and Stetson of Bokchito, OK; his siblings, Lori Cates, Lisa Thomas, Kevin Cates (Debbie) of Carthage, TX and Quentin Cates; his kidney donor Barbara Ann-Weatherford; and his pet Bell-Bell. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
