She was predeceased by: her parents, Mack Thompson and Minnie Thompson (Shipman); and her husband Lee R. Newberry. She is survived by: her nephew Bob (Wanda Thompson); her niece Carol Martin; her godson Brett Burns; her children, Sonya Holliday, Lana Thomas, Greg Thomas and Mark Thomas; her close friends, Susan Eddings, Superintendent John Daniel, Charley DeWitt and Roy Vanderburg; her children, Brenda Jo and Keniard Lee; her siblings, Nora L. O'Toole, Sarah Magdelene Kiedaisch (Maggie), Norman, Mark, James and N. Y. Thompson; and her nephew Ronnie Thompson.
