He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Virgill and Ruby Francis Fritz (Iva Fritz); his siblings, Juanita Morris, Loretta Richardson and Tommy Fritz; and his granddaughter Natalie Adcock.
He is survived by: his wife Iva Soderstrom; his daughters, Suzan (Mark Helberg) and Dawn (Amos Adcock); and his grandchildren, Jessica Houston, Ashley Helberg, Josh Helberg, Sabrina Needham, Shannon Humphreys, Amanda Roebuck, Echo Adcock and Isaac Adcock. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and many loved friends.
John had over 50 years of service to the Masonic Lodge as a lifetime member and donated to several charitable foundation affiliated within the lodge.
