It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Chester Ely Jr. in Coalgate, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 15, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Ely, Sr. and Ruby Pearl Ely (Lay); and his siblings, Frank Ely, Gene Ely, Frederick Ely, Halsell, Alvin Ely, Dortha Sue Ely and Loretta Crowder.
He is survived by: his wife Willa Dean; his children, Lori Colburn of McAlester, Jim Ely (Lesa) of Edmond and Jeffie Ely of Ashland; his grandchildren, Laramie Burnett (Lance), Cameron Ely and Holly Ely; his great grandchildren, Brinkley Burnett and Sawyer Burnett; and his sisters, Legatha Hop and Betty Crother (Claude Dennis). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
