He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Lee Ernst and Hulda Ernst (Knauf); and his siblings, Lloyd Ernst and Dorothy Engers. He is survived by: his wife Rose Marie Rehder; his children, Tina Ernst (Shaun Reinschmiedt), Angie Christian Ernst, Kristi Ernst (Johnny Chavez) and Jordan Ernst (Shayna); his grandchildren, Derick Witherspoon Jacob Hamlett, Jessica Hamlett, Joseph Ernst and Calyn Christian; and his great grandchildren, Amari, Ayva, Adaline and Achilles Ernst.
