He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey P. Sawatzky and Bertha Sawatzky (Dyck); his wives, Letha and Phyllis; his siblings, Raymond Sawatzky, Fay Webb, Jane Mueller and Nadine Conley; and his son-in-law Curt Knox.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Sawatzky (Liz) and Cherri Knox; and his siblings, Delbert Sawatzky and Katherine Barcus. He is also survived by five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clinton Alumni Association, in Dick Sawatzky's name.
