He was predeceased by: his parents, James Cowen and Mildred Bertie Cowen (Sory); his daughter Carla (Carlece); his grandson Gerad Cowen; and his siblings, James Cowen, Johnny Cowen, Wilbert Cowen, Charles Cowen, Mae Robinson, Mary Ann Kilpatrick and Karens Sue Burrow.
He is survived by: his sons, Robb Cowen of Salado, Texas and Mitch Cowen (Shelley) of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and his brother Duane Cowen of Kansas. He is also survived by six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
