Beverly Jo Cook Obituary
Beverly Jo Cook passed from this life on October 15, 2022, at the age of 83.
Beverly was born on February 7, 1939, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph and Rhoda (Vaughn) Price. Beverly grew up and attended school in Osage, where she graduated high school with the Class of 1957. On November 22, 1962, Beverly was united in marriage to Donald Glenn Cook in Cleveland, Oklahoma, where they established their home. In the early 1970s, Beverly attended cosmetology school in Cleveland, Oklahoma. In 1974, Beverly and Don moved to Midland, Texas, for a short time before returning to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1976, Beverly and Don returned to Cleveland, Oklahoma, where they continued to reside. Beverly owned and operated Beverly's Beauty Shop at her home for many years. During her time working in the beauty shop she made numerous lifelong friends.
Beverly was a champion for people with disabilities. She and Don worked tirelessly as an advocate for the developmentally disabled. They were instrumental in establishing the Pawnee County Workshop and served many years as board members. Beverly loved cooking meals for her family, always making everyone's favorite dish at family gatherings. Her dining room was her favorite place to be for coffee and conversation. Beverly was a devoted Christian, loved her Lord dearly, and was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she loved showering others with food, love, and gifts.
Survivors are her four children Rick Cook of Turley, Oklahoma, Leacia Hiseley and her husband Keith of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Melissa Cook of the home, Aaron Cook and his wife Angela of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren Amy Blankenship, Nathalie Bennett, Eric Cook, Jason Corbin, Brittany Allen, Brooklyn Short, Makaela Cook, Marshall Cook, Tommy Hiseley, Toby Hiseley; thirteen great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. In addition to her parents Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Donald Cook, two brothers James Price, Jack Price, two sisters Marie Kestler and Garnet Smith.
Services will be held 3:00 pm, Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be held in the Woodland Cemetery at Cleveland, Oklahoma. Chapman-Black Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
