It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wayne August Bortz of Claremore, Oklahoma, who passed away on December 31, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, August Bortz and Clara Bortz; his son Steve Bergen; his grandson Jarod Bergen; his great grandchild Summer Shell; his son-in-law Gary Ross; his sister Betty; and his brothers-in-law, Curt Butler and Lester Surgi.
He is survived by: his wife Almeta Bortz; his children, La Moyne Ross, Deb Coppedge (Brad), Bill Bortz (Penny) and Brad Bortz; and his sister Nila Surgi. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and numerous family members and friends.
