She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Armstrong and Emma Armstrong; and her siblings, Betty Wilcox and Kenneth Armstrong. She is survived by: her children, Rick Barnes and Teri; her son-in-law Roger Peak; her daughter Kasey; and her son-in-law Kurt Kraft.
Professionally, Shirley dedicated herself to serving as an activity director in an Alzheimer's unit, where her innate ability to connect with and enrich the lives of others shone brightly.
