He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Bruner of Claremore; his brother Randolph (Frances Bruner) of Tulsa; his siblings-in-law, Nellie Buffalomeat and Arthur Keener of Tahlequah; his parents-in-law, Walter and Lizzie Keener of Tahlequah; and his nephew Scott Bruner.

He is survived by: his siblings, Jane Cazabat of Okmulgee and Rudolph (Juanita Bruner) of Tahlequah; his sons, Edwin and Eric Bruner (Cherry); his granddaughter Katie of Claremore; his daughter Kris Bruner-Kober (Rick); his grandson Zach of Pryor; his son Dean Bruner; his granddaughter Nicole of Broken Arrow; his niece Mercyne Buffalomeat (Rhonda Bruner) of Claremore; and his nephews, Jay Buffalomeat of Claremore, Ray Buffalomeat of Lawrence, Jon Bruner of Tulsa, Terry, Dennis Bruner of Tahlequah and Stephen Cazabat of Santa Barbara, California..
