He was predeceased by: his father Earnest Gardner; and his brother William David Gardner. He is survived by: his mother Louise Gardner (Collins); his wife Melba Gardner; his children, Brian Philip Gardner and Chandra Lavaun Guthrie (Daniel); his sisters, Anita Horner (Tim) and Colleen Withers (Dale); his sister-in-law Rita Gardner; his aunts, Betty Collins and Sue Gardner; and his stepchildren, David Griner, Sabrina Griner and Abby Griner. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, numerous step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
