He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Watson and Nannie Watson; and his brothers, Calvin, Samuel, Pierce, John, Joe and Charles.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie Hillis and Melissa Phelps of Waynesboro, Georgia; his siblings, Donna Maxina Robison, Ruth McBride and David; and his niece Eletha Worley. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
