He was predeceased by: his parents, Stella Jones Tannehill and John William Jones; his sons, Timothy R Jones and John W Jones Jr; and his sister Kathleen Rearick (Richard).

He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his children, Angela Fortenberry (Doughlas) of McLoud, OK and Jason (Christina) of Ada, OK; his grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Isaac Moore, Levi, Danny Fortenberry, Christee Scheslinger (Amy), Hailey Bowen (Sean), Destiny and Isabella Fortenberry; his great grandchild Kyle Bowen of Oklahoma; and his brother Dennis Jones (Pat) of Kettering, OH. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
