With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elmer Thurman of Choctaw, Oklahoma, born in Rattan, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 26, 2021 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thurman and Ruby Thurman (Westrope); and his siblings, Nick Thurman, Kenneth Thurman, Christina Pound, Hazel Beauchamp and Velma Louise Thurman.

He is survived by: his wife Ubon Fuengfa; his children, Terry Thurman (Tonya), Jerry Thurman (Rebecca) of Hugo, OK and Linda Eskue (Scotty) of Rattan, OK; his grandchildren, Keely Thurman, Nakie Thurman, Sebastian Thurman, Aiden Thurman and Kolbi Eskue; his great grandchild Grace; and his brother Jerry Thurman (Cheryl) of Idabel, OK.

“Hello, this is Greg Nuber and I worked with Elmer for the best part of 17 years at the Valliant mill. I was so sorry to hear of his passing. I enjoyed working with Elmer (and his brother) and found Elmer to be an exemplary technician and leader in the various roles he filled. He was one of the reasons Valliant was such a good place to work. I considered him a friend as well as great cohort. He will be missed. My condolences to his immediate and extended family.”
