He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Shirley and Ethel Shirley (Sudduth); his sons, Rex Shirley and Richy Rod Shirley; his stepson Max Taylor; and his grandmother Lee Stephens (Bobbie Hurst).
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Taylor; his sons, Roy Shirley (Julie) of Andrews, TX, Ron Shirley of Chickasha and Rocky Shirley (Annette) of Ardmore; and his stepchildren, Carol Taylor of Duncan and Scott Taylor of Rush Springs. He is also survived by grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
