He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Wendling and Dolline Smith (Jordan); his granddaughter Chelsea Taylor; his great great grandchild Baxton Shamblin; and his sister Joyce Heavin.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Wendling; his children, Lisa Thornburg (Gerald), Monty Wendling (Dana), Kimberly Taylor (T. L.) and Michelle Huff; his sister Elaine Hallverson; and his grandchildren, Eric, Brian, Jami, Tara, Nathan, Charity, Jared, Derek and Alexis. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
