He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezell Pike Nelson and Gladys Nelson (Abbott); his daughter Anitra Nelson; his granddaughter Autumn Grace Nelson; his brothers, Abbott Nelson and Don Nelson; and his brother-in-law Jerry Potter.
He is survived by: his wife Lynita Swiler; his son David; his son-in-law Kami Ratcliff of Amber; his children, Ezell, Jessica Nelson of Chickasha, Oscar and Bergundy Nelson of Chickasha; his grandchildren, Keely, Nathan Ratcliff, Georgia, Coralei Nelson, Ollie and Bearton Nelson; his stepgrandchildren, RayLee Gibson and Chance Johnson; his siblings, Ezell Potter of Bartlesville, Jack (Susie Nelson) and John (Charlotte Nelson); and his siblings-in-law, David, Carolyn Swiler of Harlington, Kenneth Swiler of Chanute, Kansas and Judy Nelson of Chickasha.
