She was predeceased by: her children, James, Jr. and Lana Jo; her husband James Bowens, Sr.; her sons, Marvin Ray and Ricky Dale; her parents, Howard Roberson and Hattie Townsel; her siblings, Alice, Rosie, Joe Henry, Lloyd and Arlister; her granddaughter Stephanie; and her niece Juanita Lollis.
She is survived by: her children, Ardessa, Gloria, Annette Jean (Ricky), Delores and Renita. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
