He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Whitson and Alice Whitson (Sizemore); his stepchildren, Jesse, James, Joe, Mike and Sue; and his siblings, Charlie, Gene, Lloyd Whitson and Fern Boyette.
He is survived by: his wife Wanda Whitson; his children, Cindy and Orbie Dale; his stepchildren, Bertha, Gail, Diane, Martha, Mary, Darla and Jerry; and his siblings, Joe, Mike Whitson, Cleo Pierce, Della Mae Andrews and Roberta Williamson. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
