It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Hurst of Cherokee, Oklahoma, born in Fairview, Oklahoma, who passed away on April 22, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Irving Shafer and Goldia LaVaughn Bartley Shafer; and her siblings, Vida Lee Bowles and Guy Eugene Shafer. She is survived by: her husband Billy Don Hurst of Cherokee; her brother Vaughn D. Shafer of Claremore; her nephew Alan Bowles of Rogers; her children, Nanci Lynne Byrne (Peter) of Broomfield, Colorado, Russell Don Hurst of Conrad, Carrie Sue Anderson (Kelly) of Waco, Texas, Robin Rochelle Edmondson (Marshall Ross) of Oklahoma City and Troy Jon Hurst (Lesley Hurst) of Anthony, Kansas.; her grandchildren, Joe Ryan Cox (Mandy), Holly Elise Whittle (William Wade), Billy Lee Cox (Randi), Ryan Patrick Coyne (Brittnee), Trevor Lane Coyne, Lacey Joe Anderson, Jordan Kelly Anderson (Alison), Demirese Dawn Hurst, Michael Wade Cox, Clay Alan Cox (Jessi), Megan Peterson, Charlie Arthur and Dakota Buckly Ray Knabe; her great grandchildren, Jacobi Blake Cox, Caleb Lee Cox, Zander Scott Cox, Tobi Jolee Cox, Jessica Sachiko Whittle, Kynzlee Lynn Cox, Ryan Lee Cox, Daxton Lee Cox, Aaliyhia Grace Ann Cox and Andrea Hope Cox; and her great great grandchildren, Remington Mae Cox, Reagan Jean Cox and Beau Kelly Anderson. She is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
