He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Geraldine "Gerri" Anita Holmes of Wichita, Kansas.; his parents, Raymond DeWitt and Velma DeWitt; his brothers, Dean DeWitt and Harvey Ray DeWitt; his children, Cathy Parks (Matt) of Nash and Larry Dewitt (Patty) of Cherokee; his sister Carol Salter (Tom) of Wichita, Kansas; his sister-in-law Joy DeWitt of Wichita; and his great grandchildren, Garrett, Gunnar, Sadie, Quinn, Logan, Haley, Conner, Kasen and Easton. He was also cherished by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church of Cherokee or Cherokee FFA through the funeral home.
