He is survived by: his son Garry II (Yong Nan Deason); his siblings, Nettie (Vernon Hoffman), Buel (Sandy Deason), Beverly Rogers and Kathey Brown; his children, Becky (Mike Eubanks), Donna (Frank Eddings) and Eddie Deason; and his grandchildren, Shawn, Karla Eubanks, Brandi Eubanks, Rebecca Alice Deason (Lil Becky), Mandy, Josh Hwang, Garry III, Jessica Deason, Aaron Eddings, Forrest, Christina Eddings, Caleb and Alexa Eubanks.
