He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Tatum and Betty Tatum (Kidd); his brother Steve; and his great grandchild Elijah. He is survived by: his wife Pat; his children, Alan Tatum (Becky), Brian Tatum, Chris Tatum (Jacey) and Patty Marshall (Randy); and his grandchildren, Christopher Tatum, Dusti Tatum, Levi Tatum (MaKayla), Desirae Tatum, Brain Tatum II, Chelsea Clement (Charles), Jason Tatum, Jamie LeBell (Paul), Josh Tatum (Charlie), Dakota Tatum (Laura), Jeremiah Tatum (Jazmine) and Justice Tatum. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family.
