She was predeceased by: her parents, Columbus Dowdy and Lola Dowdy (Dornan); her husband Bane Whisenhunt; her granddaughter Leah Collins; her great grandchild Ayden Warrior; and her siblings, Goldie, Fay, Rhoda Lee, Lloyd, Frankie, Dewey, Donald and William.
She is survived by: her children, Darwin Whisenhunt (Sandy) of Checotah, Dickie Whisenhunt (Peggy) of Okay, Don Whisenhunt (Betty) of Checotah and Laren McAfee (Bobby). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Garrett Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (311 SW 2nd St, Checotah, OK 74426). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Assembly of God (401 N Broadway St, Checotah, OK 74426).
