He was predeceased by: his mother Ethel Whisenhunt; his granddaughter Leah Collins; his great grandchild Ayden Warrior; and his siblings, Boggus Whisenhunt, Ruth Winkle, Velma Smith and Willie Brinsfield.
He is survived by: his wife Bertha Dowdy; and his children, Darwin Whisenhunt (Sandy) of Checotah, Dickie Whisenhunt (Peggy) of Okay, Don Whisenhunt (Betty) of Checotah and Laren McAfee (Bobby). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Garrett Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service (311 SW 2nd St, Checotah, OK 74426). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Assembly of God (401 N Broadway St, Checotah, OK 74426).
