Lela Mae Rothell Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lela Mae Rothell of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, who passed away on January 25, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lillie Lou Mathews (Giles) and Floyd Mathews; her husbands, Dale Boxley and Joe Dean Rothell; her son Joe David Boxley; and her siblings, Robert Mathews, Eugene Mathews, Dennis Mathews, Nathaniel Mathews, Josephine Testerman, Janelle White and Judy Rothell.

She is survived by: her daughters, Charlotte Watson of Prairie Grove, Monica Bishop (Gary) of Chattanooga, Carlene Whittington (Jeff) of Grandfield and Cindy Torda (Art) of Perrysburg, Ohio; and her sister Jane Loveless of Marlow, Oklahoma. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and many friends.
