She was predeceased by: her parents, Odie Heck and Ruby Heck (Kennedy); her husband James Newton (Jim); her son Tommy Newton; and her siblings, Cletus Heck, Burtus Heck (Nub), George Heck, Keith Heck and Melba Evans.

She is survived by: her children, Gary Newton, Larry Newton (Linda Kay) and Linda Shorter (Randy); her daughter-in-law Sherry Miller; and her grandchildren, Josh Newton (Jerri), James R. Newton (Amy), Jennifer Newton (Billy Holder), Amber Basile (Adam), Keli Guyer (Rob), Gary Newton Jr., Shane Shorter (Katie Jo), Miranda White (Andrew), Stacy Miller, Tyler (Matthew), Keely, Mason (Wyatt), Grayston, Isabelle (Preslie), Sadie and Cheyenne James (Landrie June).
