He was predeceased by: his parents, Antone J. Thompson and Myrtle Eva Thompson (Grimes); his son Russell Wayne Thompson; his siblings, Beatrice Hice, Wanda Emdy, Faye Grotsma, Joyce Jackson, Wilburn Thompson, Harold Thompson, Max Thompson and A. J. Thompson; and his son-in-law Tim Love.
He is survived by: his wife Juanita "Joan" Thompson; his daughters, Jeanie (Jimmy Wear), Janice (Dewayne Settle), Glenda (Buster Chaney) and Diana Love of Cement; and his daughter-in-law Becky Thompson of Cyril. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
