He was predeceased by: his daughter Kelli Sowards; and his parents, Merrill Sowards (Jim) and Marjorie Sowards. He is survived by: his wife Mary of Cashion; his children, Terri Arms of Fort Worth, Texas and Jeff Sowards (Heather) of Bettendorf, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Sarah Arms of New York City, Megan Flaspohler (Jake) of Fort Worth, Texas, Kaytlin Sowards, Karli Sowards, Kamryn Sowards and Cole Sowards of Bettendorf, Iowa.; his sister Gloria Baker; his sister-in-law Beverly Morgan; and also Tess Wood of New York City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Kelli Sowards' Memorial Scholarship Fund at Community State Bank of Cashion.
