He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph Orval; his wife Bonnie; his children, Melvin Jr. and Josetta Wallace; and his sister Lois Mott.
He is survived by: his parent Jennie Marie Brooks (Jenlink); his son Terrence Patrick Brooks (Dawn Gay) of Alva; his grandchildren, Brooke Hess (Roger) of Enid, Troy Brooks (Li) of Alva and Bryan Brooks of Alva; and his great grandchildren, Jessica Zahorsky (James) of Enid, Ko Brooks and Torin Brooks. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
