He was predeceased by: his parents, Sol Bierig and Florence Bierig (Fuller); and his siblings, Warren Bierig, Bruce Bierig, Vernon Bierig, Jewell Becker and Ilene Doughty.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Slaght; and his children, Dennis, Tom (Mitzie), Rick (Cindy) and Dixene Howerton (Rick). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairview or the charity of your choice.
