He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Ann Burkhalter; his close friend Little Bit; his children, Cathey Reynolds of The Woodlands, Karen Clay and Charlie Maxey; his daughter-in-law Lisa Maxey of Cartwright; his brothers, Joe Maxey Sr. of Atoka, Jarvis Maxey of Durant and Houston Maxey of Fort Bragg; his grandchildren, Libby Fournier, Briar Brassfield and Blair Brassfield; his parents, Ruben Lee Maxey and Flossie Gertrude Maxey (Trammel); his wife Elizabeth Ann Maxey (Burkhalter); his son Tedwin Vance Maxey; his siblings, Eldon "Judge", Floyd Maxey, Wesley Maxey and Linda Franks; and his son-in-law Tommy Reynolds.
