He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Schupbach and Rose Frieden Schupbach; his wife Elna Mae; and his siblings, Richard, Leon, Doris and Nelda.

He is survived by: his children, Tom, Sherry Schupbach, Peggy and David Dowell; his grandchildren, Bradley, Summer, Samuel, Niki, Randall and Mycheille; and his sister Shirley Nelson. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Burlington Education Foundation through the funeral home.
