He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Appleton and Vernon Appleton; his father-in-law Travis Shahan; and his brother-in-law Bob Shahan. He is survived by: his wife Terrilyn Shahan; his sons, Joe Appleton of Buffalo, Oklahoma, J. C. Appleton (Barbara) of Buffalo, Oklahoma and Lucas Appleton (Amanda) of Buffalo, Oklahoma; his siblings, Vicki Cook (Jim) of Okarche, Rose Shank (Ron) of Seiling, Oklahoma and Kenny Appleton of Dodge City, Kansas; and his mother-in-law Louise Shahan of Buffalo, OK.. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Christian Church, Shiners, Harper County Community Hospital, or St. Judes.
