He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Lester and Lottie Jane Newman (Locke); his brother Matt; and his siblings-in-law, Johnnie Newman, Edgar Davis and Claude Hailey.
He is survived by: his former spouse Tomasine Gamble (Tommie); his wife Tommie Newman; his sons, Mike Newman (Tracy) and Don Newman (Teresa); his grandchildren, Michelle, Billingsley (Jeremy), Jennifer and Ledger Newman; his great grandchildren, Ali and Leah Billingsley; his stepgrandsons, Jamie Underwood (Mandy) and Jarrett Underwood (Tonya); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jillian, James, Michael and Sarah; his sisters-in-law, Chris Hailey of Broken Bow and Barbara Nix (Rolan) of Idabel; and also Noel Cathey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
