He was predeceased by: his wife Opal Steel; his parents, Ozzie Red and Josephyne Steel; and his brothers, Preston and Carson Steel.
He is survived by: his son Steve Steel (Jeanie) of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Stevie Steel (Courtney) of Broken Bow, Tyler Hankins of Haworth, Nikki Troxill and Chad Troxill; and his great grandchildren, Lizzie Steel, Treven Armstrong, Taylor Jackson, Ty Arnold and Alex Jackson.
