It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell Ward Girod of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, born in San Francisco, California, who passed away on May 30, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Roy Russell. He is survived by: his mother Barbara Nell Girod (Ward) of Glenpool; his wife Helena Girod; his children, Gerald Scott Girod (Cynthia) of Broken Arrow and Maria Suzette Gillespie (Bill) of Coweta; his siblings, Paul Girod (Johnna) of Tulsa and Darla Fleming (Rick) of Tulsa; his grandchildren, Daniel Wall, Christina Himes, Marc Gillespie, David Girod, Autumn Girod and Tristan Gillespie; and his great grandchildren, Andie Dozier, Liam Himes, Payton Himes, Siah Wall and Paul Wall. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Russell's name.
