He was predeceased by: his parents, Oadus P. Hocutt and Ida Hocutt (Conner); his wife Verlie Alice Hocutt (Kelley); his siblings, Paul Hocutt, Thelma Harris (Ralph), Catherine Selby (Preston) and Betty Mish; his daughter-in-law Patricia Hocutt (Stringer); and his great grandchild Jonathon Martin.

He is survived by: his children, Billy G. Hocutt, Linda (Gary Martin) and Carol (Lynn Bertling); his grandchildren, Cheri (Patrick Gotcher), Ronnie Martin, Rhonda (Thomas Masengale), April (Brad Ramsey), Kristopher (Mendy Rowe) and Mandy (Adam Dye); and his brother-in-law Ray Mish. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
