He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Benton and Mattie Benton; his siblings, Cliff, Frank Benton and Carrie Harris (Benton); and his daughter Debi Clark (Benton).

He is survived by: his wife Jean; his children, David (Vilma) and Cathrine (Jonathan); and his grandchildren, Dana, Stacie, Justin, Chelsea, Kaysen, Tommy, Logan, Willa, Aurielle and Aurianna. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
