He was predeceased by: his parents, Mamie Hicks and Ollie Hicks; his former wife Lola Ann Spears Hicks; his wife Mattie B. Hicks; his son Jason Dwayne Hicks; his granddaughter Amy Dawn Montgomery; and his siblings, J. W. Hicks, W. C. and Bernice Hicks.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Michelle Hicks Newman, Michael Lee Hicks Jr., Tonya Renee Hicks and Jessica Leann Hicks; his stepdaughter Bobbie Vann; and his siblings, Royce Edward Hicks (Darlene), Charles Dickson Hicks and Juanelle Bloodsworth. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and Numerous great grandchildren.
